| For a more even complexion, Advanced Foto-Facial skin rejuvenation treatment
is a series of Intense Pulsed Light treatments that can be performed on
the face, neck, hands or body. This treatment is used to improve the appearance
of Rosacea, flushing skin, broken or raised capillaries, sun damaged skin,
age spots, skin texture & photo aging. This treatment also improves mild acne
scars, redness and large pores, minimizes dark circles around the eyes & reduces
fine lines.
This treatment involves little or no downtime. You can resume normal activities
immediately after the treatment. |
|
| Procedure |
|
As intense light is applied in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area,
without damaging the skin, the light penetrates through the skin & is absorbed
by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation. The heat causes damage to
the vessel or lesion, & the body begins its natural healing process. The lesion
will darken before it flakes off or fade as the body absorbs it. Treatment can be
given as frequently as every three weeks.
Number of treatments needed
For optimal results, a series of 3-5 treatments are recommended. Follow-up
treatments may be recommended to maintain results.

- Treatment improves sun spots, age spots, dull complexions, uneven pigmentation,
large pores, sun damaged skin & early signs of aging.
- Treatment improves red flushing skin, rosacea & broken capillaries.

Treatment may vary from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area to
be treated. First, the treated area is cleansed and a cool gel is applied. When
the pulse of light is delivered, the sensation is similar to a snap of rubber band.
After treatment, the gel is removed, the skin cleansed & sunscreen is applied.
Pain is minimal. For sensitive skin, a cool compress is applied following treatment.
Possible side effects
Side effects are rare. Immediately following treatment, the skin may appear
flushed, brown pigmented spots may appear darker & capillaries may be more
visible. In rare instances temporary swelling can occur. |

- If scabs appear after blistering, they should be kept soft with a lubricating cream. Blistered or ulcerated skin may be treated with an antibiotic ointment or burn treatment cream.
